The Set
Set title: Dark
Shadows (Pink) |
Set Comments
Barnabas Collins and the Dark Shadows gang were a daytime TV smash in 1968 and the Philadelphia Gum Company was quick to pounce on the show's popularity.
Naturally, this set is a huge favorite with Dark Shadows fans with "Pink" referring to the pink border found on each card and to distinguish it from the 1969 Dark Shadows "Green" set which sports green borders. The paper used to make all (pink and green) Dark Shadows cards wears very easily and top grade cards are not as easy to locate.
This set is technically called "Barnabas Wallet Photos" owing to the name found on the box and wrapper. However, collectors routinely refer to this set as "Dark Shadows (Pink)."
