Self-Winding Stock Tickers

There were 9 different models of the Self Winding Ticker:  1-C,  21-C,  22-A,  30-A,  31-A,  32-A,  34-A,   35-A & 41-A.  Designation tags (see pictures) were made for all of these model types, but some tickers never had one attached.  Many tickers were modified over years of service, changing their model designation.

Self Winding Ticker 1-C is a two-wire ticker operated by two polarities of battery on each wire.  It is equipped with typewheels for quotation service.

Self Winding Ticker 21-C is a 1-C ticker equipped with a typewheel for sports service.

Self Winding Ticker 22-A is a two-wire ticker operated by one polarity of battery (make-break) on each wire and is adapted for use on Universal Ticker circuits. It differs from the 1-C ticker in its escapement and shift assemblies and is equipped with typewheels for sports service.

Self Winding Ticker 30-A is a 1-C ticker equipped with high wound magnets.  It is equipped with typewheels for quotation service.

Self Winding Ticker 31-A is a 30-A ticker equipped with typewheels for sports service.

Self Winding Ticker 32-A is a 22-A ticker with high wound magnets.

Self Winding Ticker 34-A is a one-wire ticker operated by two polarities of battery. It differs from the 1-C ticker in its escapement and shift assemblies and has high wound magnets. It is equipped with typewheels for sports service. The winding magnets and associated parts are removed on this ticker.

Self Winding Ticker 35-A is a 34-A ticker with the winding magnets and associated parts in place.

Self Winding Ticker 41-A is a 1-C ticker without the numbers typewheel. Only the letters typewheel and letters printing platen are assembled. This ticker was used only in reperforator switching offices.
