1969 Wacky Ads

No roughs have yet been discovered for this series.  However, the 5 Cent Box shows four wacky ads on the sides, which don't exactly jive with the finished cards.  It would appear that the box art was taken directly from the rough art.

The Commie rough makes reference to beatniks, and All-Brain says "blow your mind" rather than "blow your brain".  Ajerx is rather close, but all are the wrong color, and reminiscent of Lynch/Spiegelman styles.

COMMIE CLEANSERALL-BRAINAJERX

The old wash woman on Chicken Fat was changed to a modern housewife, and the tag line "for lovely stains" switched with "for lovelier stains".

Wacky Ad Variations

 

 The Wacky Ads were die-cut in two different ways.  The "Long Perfs" came out first and included Good & Empty.   The "Short Perfs" were issued after G&E was dropped.
